surrounding inner suburbs.

Cook's Cottage....
Cook's cottage, located in Melbourne's Fitzroy Gardens, was
brought from Yorkshire, England, and erected here in 1934.
It serves as a tribute to Captain James Cook, who was the
first acknowledged European explorer of the Australian
eastern coast in 1770.

railway station.....
Flinders Street station, one of Melbourne's major terminus
railway station - the other being Spencer Street station.
Trains also service the suburbs and outer country areas.

St. Paul's
cathedral....
Melbourne still has a lot of renovated and refurnished old
buildings, such as the St. Paul's cathedral, as well as new
modern buildings.
This adds to the character of the city of Melbourne.

Melbourne Cricket
Ground.....
Hosted the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games, the site where this
stadium now stands is were Aussie rules football was
invented, and where international and state cricket is
played.

The Alexandra
Gardens....
The Alexandra Gardens lie across the river from the
Melbourne central business district making a verdant break
between the Yarra River and Alexandra Avenue.
They are a popular and busy location during Melbourne's
Moomba festival, being a good vantage point for watching the
water sports.
During Moomba a fairground attracts thousands of families to
enjoy the rides, carnival food and busy atmosphere.

Parliament House.....
Home to Australia's Federal Government between 1901 and 1927
and has been home to Victoria's State Government ever since.

This beautifully renovated building has been the venue for
many international musicals since it opened in 1886.
