This is the reason why we all believe
that Mary and Wally have been, " HEAVEN SENT"....
On August, 1st, 2000 my wife's, loving and caring Nana
passed away. During the weeks prior to her sadly passing
away, my wife's Nana spent much time telling my wife how to
care for ducks, due to her love for geese and ducks.
15 minutes after hearing of the very sad news about her
Nana; two Pacific Black Ducks flew into our back-yard and
landed into our above ground swimming pool.
We then all believed they were "HEAVEN SENT", and
named them Mary and Wally.
Mary was my wife's very loving Nana's name and Wally was her
Grandfather's name.
We all know that Mary and Wally cannot replace the love,
joy, and understanding, and wellbeing that my wife's Nana
gave us all, but least we can give back some love and joy to
our "HEAVEN SENT" and remember my wife's Nana's
love in a very special way.
This is a "Pacific Black Duck"
All about Mary and Wally....
Wally and Mary are two Pacific Black Ducks. They are a
medium sized duck and are common to Australia. They are
dark-brown with a pale face and throat. And they have a
distinctive black eye-stripe that stretches from the top of
the bill through the eye.
In flight the Pacific Black Duck is a dark bird with swift
wing beats and a slender neck. The upper wing has no white
but does have a green glossy colour patch on it. the under
wing is white.
The Pacific Black Ducks are nomadic, breeding when water
areas are at their most extensive and the seeds of aquatic
plants are ripening.
Although preferring deep freshwater swamps and streams, it
also frequents brackish and, less often, salt water
habitats.
Food consists mostly of seeds from a wide variety of aquatic
plants, such as grasses and bog plants, as well as small
invertebrates obtained by dabbling and up-ending.
We all have fun with Mary and Wally....
We all have fun and enjoy Mary and Wally spending time with
us. They come about 3-4 times a day, and we always feed them
bread when they come. Wally is funny and cheeky, he will
even come out of the pool and we throw him bits of bread and
he will catch it.
We are all waiting for the
day that they will bring there family with them. The only
problem with Mary and Wally is.....Where will we swim now?
This page has been dedicated to my wife's, Loving and Caring

MY NANA"S LOVE
My Nana's love
Is something that no one can explain
It's made of deep devotion
Sacrifice and pain
For nothing can destroy it
Or take that love away
It's paitent and forsaking
For many have seen the same
It will always remain a secret
The love my Nana gave
OH NO - Mary and Wally have taken over the kid's swimming
pool
[but where do they swim now?]
